A curved stairlift takes its name from the curved stairlift rail which it runs on. The name can be misleading because it suggests it’s only for gently curving stairs. In fact, a ‘curved stairlift’ is for any non-straight stairs which have turns, angles, bends or curves anywhere along their length. It’s the rail which must curve around the corners for a smooth ride. Each curved stairlift rail must be individually built to precisely follow the unique contours of the stairs it’s installed on.
